Deepak Mohanty

Topic of the talk:  Capital Flows: Challenges and Opportunities   About the Speaker: Mr. Deepak Mohanty is an Executive Director of  the prestegious Reserve Bank of India in charge of Monetary Policy, Economic Research and Statistics. In terms of monetary policy, he is among the biggest policy makers of India and has played an important role in the economic development. The committee led by Mr. Mohanty made some sweeping suggestions to the way RBI works in open market which was a great topic of discussion and news a few days back.

Mr. Mohanty holds master’s degrees in Economics from Yale University and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He has several publications in professional journals to his credit.  Current research interest of Mr. Mohanty includes Monetary Economics and International Macroeconomics.  Prior to his current position, he was Senior Adviser in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and earlier worked in various positions in Economic Research and Monetary Policy Departments of the Reserve Bank of India.
