Dilip Chhabria , an art center Alumni owns and heads D.C.Design, a 1993 incepted Mumbai based automotive design and prototyping organization, catching to the global OEM’s and high net worth individuals.

His is a case of a designer who chucked a secure job at the GM Design Centre, Detroit at General Motors with plans to work for his own brand. On his return to India he first started his own entrepreneurial venture in automotive accessories. This exposure gave him insights into consumer buying behavior and decision making and understanding of various materials and processes, a key learning for an automotive design business.

The Cos product and customer matrix is a very dynamic one. From cars to SUV’s to LCV’s to full length  coaches to special application vehicle and from OEMs, automotive and non automotive to individual celebrities film, business and political, India and the world.

From an automotive stand point, the co. has to its credit over 600 original and ground up concepts, a world record and notable among the prototype for OEMs include the ASTON Martin, V8 vintage, the Renault Dacia steppe, the GM Beat, apart from scores others which we cannot divulge. D.C. Design has individually participated at the Frankfurt, Geneva, Delhi and Beijing Motor shows in the past and owns a disruptive innovative technique where digital data is married to craftsmanship.

His has been a case of Design being used as a differentiator and driver to build an entrepreneurial business model in a country where words like design, aesthetics and styling were unheard of especially in the automotive sector.

His hobbies, pastime, relaxation, are all rolled into a single-minded passion for designing cars and creating paintings and sculptures.
