FOSSkriti ![]() "Freedom means choice. Choice means power. That's why we believe open source is inevitable. It returns control to the user. You can see the code, change it, learn from it. Bugs are more quickly found and fixed. Thus further improving the software" - Redhat's essay With this belief we announce India's student-organised Free and Open Source Software conference for students, FOSSkriti as a part of Techkriti '09 held at IIT Kanpur.
Come and participate in our events like talks, hackfests, BoF sessions, and workshops by Asia's brightest developers. There is something for everyone - be it a hard core coder or a casual end-user. So what are you waiting for? Visit techkriti.org and register yourselves for the workshops or read more about our events. What is FOSSkriti?FOSSkriti is a mini-conference aimed at students in india with the aim of making opensource software more popular. It also acts as a meet for all the developers of OSS among the student body. This year all the workshops, talks, hackfests etc. would be based on the theme "open web". We would be having events touching on topics like browsers, apache, frameworks etc. Our official IRC Channel is at #fosskriti (server: irc.freenode.net). ( IRC Channels are online rooms where several people talk in a common chat window of sorts. for help wikipedia ) Follow the FOSSKriti updates at https://twitter.com/fosskriti For more information contact fosskriti[at]techkriti.org Contacts
