It not only involves thrill of finding a hidden fox (transmitter) but also the opportunity of learning the basics of direction finding. For those who couldn't get the flavor from above, here is the description:

The "FOX HUNT" (also known as the "T HUNT") basically consists of locating a hidden transmitter by using a receiver set whose features have been enhanced to locate the hidden transmitter.

In this competition you shall be tested in your practical radio skills along with operating a receiver, your navigation and team work capabilities.

The skills learnt in this event have a wide spectrum of applications finding jamming stations, or locating radios and hence persons conducting activities illegal in nature, locating transmitters on hidden cars or a black box of a plane etc. All these factors add a great amount of thrill to this event.
